STIMULATE
** Our last series entitled "Redeeming the Time" was
a source of tremendous encouragement as we saw the need to be prepared
to share the gospel of Christ with the lost world around us.
Hopefully you have closely examined your own heart to be sure that
you belong to the Lord Jesus Christ and are now willing to share His
saving truth will all of those individuals which He brings across your
path.
MOTIVATE
** It is my hope that during our study and fellowship together over the
next five weeks, we all "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ". (2Peter 3:18)
That each one of us understands what it means to be a true believer
and that we live a life "above reproach in the midst of a crooked
and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world."
(Philippians 2:15)
To achieve that goal we are starting a five part series which will
focus upon "The One Anothers of the New Testament".
** Foundational to understanding the wonderful truths that we are going
to be learning together is the answer to the following question:
Do I obey the commandments of Christ...
A. - in order to become a Christian and go to Heaven?
B. - because I am already a Christian and my obedience is a loving
response to the One who has made me fit for Heaven?
The answer of course is "B", out of loving gratitude for
our Savior's redemptive work on Calvary's cross we willingly submit
to His lordship and strive to bring Him glory in whatever we do. cf.
John 14:15, 21, 23, 15:10, 14, 16.
Alright, let's begin this wonderful adventure through the New Testament
by asking the Lord to bless our study and to teach us how God's truly
redeemed people treat one another!
