Redeeming the Time - Part 2

FERTILE SOIL            Page 6
V.22 (Cont'd.)

So, here is the third error the world makes.

3) They try to maintain a worldly lifestyle and are consumed with loving money in the process.

This is exactly why Christians have no interest in the State Lottery.
All see -Matthew 6:24, Proverbs 23:4-5

V.23 ** It is time for us to learn the foundational truth which will make it possible for us to redeem our time for the Lord's sake. What is different about the "good" soil, when we compare it to the others?

"...this is the man who hears the word and understands it..." cf. John 10:27-30

** How is this man's lifestyle different?

He redeems the time by bearing "fruit". He is the Lord's "Fertile Soil"!

** Should that be an earmark of every Christian?

Absolutely! All of God's children will bear the fruit of His work in their life.
All see - John 15:1-8

** So are all Christians little rubber stamps who all do exactly the same thing, producing exactly the same fruit?

No, we are each unique as we bring forth fruit in various amounts. Just a footnote, typically a average crop in the area of Galilee was considered to be one of eight fold. Jesus is calling for us to bring forth a truly big crop of fruit to His glory.

So here is the foundational truth that will make it possible for us to redeem the time. We must be the Lord's "Fertile Soil" which bears fruit to the glory of God! That means that we have received the "seed of the gospel" and been born-again to new life in Christ!

** What were the three errors made by the world, which causes them to live a time wasting lifestyle?

1) Hardening their hearts against God!
2) Making personal comfort their god
3) Maintaining a worldly lifestyle, loving money
