Titus - Chapter One

THINKING BIBLICALLY - Part 2           Page 6
V.14 (cont'd.)

** How do you get into that position in the first place?

"...[by turning] away from the truth..."

V.15 ** As believers, all things are pure or all things are lawful, but what about unbelievers?

"...nothing is pure..." Why? "...both their mind and their conscience are defiled."

V.16 ** In that terrible condition, what "Phony Profession" do they make?

"They profess to know God!"

** How do we know that is not true?

"...by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient, and worthless for any good deed."

** Having heard their "Phony Profession", how does that help us live out our Genuine Christianity?

By a negative example, we are encouraged to not deny the Lord, but to obey Him in everything, always being ready to do the goods deeds He has designed for us to do. cf. Ephesians 2:10

** What were the three profound principles in this chapter that showed us the earmarks of Genuine

They are:

1) The Powerful Proclamation
2) The Prescribed Pattern
3) The Phony Profession

** Who were we to imitate in today's study?

The above reproach elder of God!

** Does my life match the characteristics of the elder listed in verses 6-9 of today's passage and if not, what do I need to change?

** Review this chapter throughout your week and be sure that your life reflects Genuine Christianity!
