Galatians, Chapter One, Lesson One

THE AUTHORITY OF GOD            Page 6

EXTRICATE (Cont'd.)

The parallels to our life become obvious as we work back through that list...

1) Jesus died for ours sins as well, so we have been delivered from this present evil age by the authority of God!

2) By the authority of God, we are recipients of His Grace and Peace.

3) We have be "sent", by the authority of His word, into the world to preach the gospel.
cf. Matthew 28:19-20

DELINEATE

** From the opening of today's study, what should be the one compelling force behind all that we think, say and do? Or to put it another way, how can we know that we will have the confidence to act on behalf of our Lord who gave Himself for us?

Our lives are lived out under the divine authority of God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ!

EVALUATE

** Since God's authority has granted you so much, do you often stop to consider how much it cost the Lord to purchase our salvation? Since He gave Himself for us, is it to much to ask that we would give ourselves to Him in obedience to His word moment by moment?

ACTIVATE

** Dear Lord Jesus, I not only want to learn your Word, but I want with all my heart to obey it. Please help me remember Your great sacrifice for me, at those moments when I am tempted to disobey You. May the prayer of my heart be in concert with King David when he said, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Psalm 51:10
