Ephesians, Chapter Six, Lesson Two

THE SPIRIT FILLED LIFE - Part 7            Page 6
V. 9 (Cont'd.)

** Are men like that?

Absolutely not! They show favoritism to win over the affections of those who would profit them the most. cf. James 2:1-4 and 9 We need to become more like our Heavenly Father.

EXTRICATE

** What is the central theme of this passage, which will produce the greatest joy for a Christian, even in the workplace?

Obedience, "doing the will of God from the heart"! cf. verse six

DELINEATE

** What are some ways we can do this as a Christian employee or employer?

By showing respect (V.5)
By doing God's will (V.6)
By rendering service (V.7)

All with our own "good will" - attitude.

EVALUATE

** As we consider this short list, how do you measure up? Not here, sitting in Bible study, but in the workplace? If the furnace for testing our integrity is at our jobs, how does the reality of my Christian life stand up to the test?

ACTIVATE

** Let's ask our gracious God to forgive us for the times that we have failed to respond as He would have us. Let's also ask Him to strengthen us to be more than victors, armed with His Word, as we are working for His glory.
