Ephesians, Chapter One, Lesson Six

STRENGTH IN CHRIST            Page 6

EXTRICATE

** As the apostle offers this prayer on the behalf of the Ephesians, and us as well, what three things does he want us to understand in verses 18 and 19?

1. The hope of His calling.
2. The riches of the glory of His inheritance.
3. The surpassing greatness of His power (dunamis).

DELINEATE

** What are some of the kinds of things that discourage you? What causes you to feel run down, worn out, defeated or lacking in power in your Christian life?

EVALUATE

** Whatever they are, we have seen today how we have been given "Strength in Christ" by the grace of God.

If we will focus on the three things that the apostle Paul prayed for us to understand, we will be all the more prepared and equipped to serve Him on a daily basis. As we bring our study to an end, please turn with me to Psalm 119 and lets see what we are to do with what we have learned so that we will remember our "Strength in Christ".

All see -
Psalm 119:15 "meditate on Thy precepts"
Psalm 119:23 "meditates on Thy statutes"
Psalm 119:97 "meditate on Thy law"

ACTIVATE

** We have learned, from the pen of the apostle Paul, three glorious truths designed to strengthen our usefulness to Christ. We need to daily "meditate" on the reality of God's Word and then apply it at those times when we are feeling run down, discouraged, worn out, defeated or lacking in power. His Word is true and we can do all things through Him who strengthens us!
