STIMULATE

** You will remember from our study together last week, that we have so much for which we are to be "Thankful in Christ". We saw the two dominate characteristics of a true Christian, do you recall what they were?

1) Loving and willing submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in my own personal life.

2) An unquenchable "love for the Brethren", or as Paul said, "for all the saints".

** Which of these two did you notice most in your daily walk with Christ this past week?

Both, in that I am very aware of how our Lord Jesus directs our steps each day and how very dear you all are to me - even as I have you in my heart as I am writing our studies.

MOTIVATE

** For today I would like for you to consider some very practical questions regarding your everyday life. Do you ever feel run down, discouraged, worn out, defeated or lacking power in your Christian life? In our passage today of Ephesians 1:18-23, we are going learn from the apostle Paul about the unlimited resource we have to supply our "Strength in Christ". Let's read the passage together as we set our hearts towards the study of God's precious Word.

Strength in Christ

INVESTIGATE

V.18 ** Paul opens our passage for today by continuing his prayer for us and the Ephesians. What was it that we saw him asking God for, on our behalf, last week?

"...a spirit (pneuma) of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him." Remember, this was speaking of a disposition, influence or attitude. We are to apply the knowledge of Christ that we have received in an "attitude of wisdom", in light of the personal conviction that the Holy Spirit has revealed to us concerning our sin and the price Christ paid to set us free from that sin.
