STIMULATE

** Last week we learned that by “Remembering the Truth” of God’s word we will discover that our adequacy in life will come from the fact that God is our resource (2Corinthians 3:5). Has it been helpful for you to live your life this past week trying to remember the Word of God in your daily application of its truths?

Extremely! Whenever life puts forth a challenge, it is always the Word of God that provides the answer for us. We will be victorious each day, when we remember the truth that His Spirit has taught us.

MOTIVATE

** In his gospel account, the apostle John said, “For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ”(John 1:17). As children of God through faith in Christ, we have learned the importance of knowing the truth and then “Remembering the Truth” in our daily walk with the Lord. But what about those around us who spend their entire lives “Rejecting the Truth”? How are we to view them, what is our impact to be on their lives? To learn the answer, let’s read our passage for today in
2Thessalonians 2:6-12 and hear Paul describe those who are “Rejecting the Truth”.

INVESTIGATE

V. 6 ** To whom is Paul referring when he says, “you know what restrains him now”?

The man of lawlessness, the son of destruction who was to be revealed. Most likely a reference to “The Antichrist” which had been prophesied to come.
cf. Matthew 24:15, Daniel 11:31,36-38

** What did the Thessalonians “know” about the antichrist?

“Restrains” translates the word katecho which means that he was being restrained, held back or detained.
